Guided Walks

Who are they aimed at?

If you belong to a group or club that would like a fun and interesting guided walks on an environmental or historical topic then just contact me.  Families and groups of friends can be easily catered for.  You just say what you want and I will organise it. I have years of experience in giving guided walks, probably numbering into the hundreds if not thousands.  The type of group has varied from a specialist wildlife group to just intererested residents and local people.  In addition to outdoor guided walks I have also given conducted tours of historic buildings as a volunteer.

What would they involve?

Walks can be offered on almost any parks, countryside or wildlife topic at any location, time and distance.  You can bring as many people as you like.  The most I have ever taken on a guided walk was 170 and that was on bats.  The ideal group is somewhere between 10 and 20 people.  Well behaved children are welcome.  If the group has any particular interests then, if I know in advance, I can tailor the walk to suit.

Some examples of guided walks

Below are guided walk examples that I currently offer:

  • Managing woodland and it‘s wildlife (Any time)
  • Flowering spring woodland (April – June)
  • What makes a meadow buzz with wildlife (June – August)
  • Heathland (June – August)
  • Introduction to insects and their diversity (June – August)
  • Pond dipping for grown-ups (May to September)
  • Family pond dipping (June – September)

But don’t forgot though that I can lead a guided walk on most natural history topics.  If you have any particularly walk topic that you or your group are interested in then please contact me via the contact page.

What is the cost?

There is a flat charge of £50 for the group per session (approximately 3 hours) providing it is in the Norwich area.  If further afield then there is an additional travel expense charge but this is always kept to a minimum.
